We Are Riven App: Silverstar (Silverwood)

In short, Silverstar is a very cautious, but caring leader (and friend). She would do anything in her power to keep those she cares about safe, but this does not extend to harming them. She does not believe in the idea of being cruel to be kind, and treats everyone within her clan the same way a mother would her children. This stems from the experience of losing her unborn kits, which will be explained more in the history. 

This she-cat is loud, talkative and high energy, always cracking witty but light-hearted jokes with everyone she meets. In-Clan interaction tends to be more maternal, while outside the Clan she is just plain friendly. She tends to be very overprotective and jumpy, always taking extra precautions to make sure nobody gets seriously injured or hurt. Her reactions to losing a clan member, young or old, are very rough and she does not take it well due to her feelings of being an inadequate leader (and mother by extension, since she sees herself in a very motherly role). She has little to no tolerance for those who inhibit her ability to protect Wailclan, or even go as far to launch attack. As I'm sure you could assume, she is incredibly unforgiving of those who have attacked her or her family (Clan) in the past. As such, she has a strong disliking of Thicketclan due to their aggression.

As well as this, she tends to be very closed minded. Silverstar will outright refuse listening to other Clan leaders with opposing opinions during meetings, which makes her difficult to deal with at times. She will not back down from an argument unless she fears it will greatly endanger her family or herself, considering that if she is gravely wounded she would not be able to protect her family to the best of her ability. There is little to nothing that will get her to agree with/work with you if she feels her clan is threatened by doing so. Her fam goes first, homies.  

Silverstar is also very decisive. Any choice she makes is ultimately to keep Wailclan from harm, and even if the decision wouldn't directly cause damage she is always thinking how it could affect them in the future. Whatever decision she makes is with confidence and she rarely second-guesses herself. This, as well as her reluctance to listen to others with opposing ideals, makes her fairly foolish. Silverstar would turn away from good ideas just to spite a rival clan, or to show that she isn't wishy-washy with the choices she makes. 

She puts up a good front for her clan. Always trying to show them the positive side of every difficulty and keeping her pessimistic thoughts to herself. Internal anxiety is something she deals with often, but bottles up to appear strong willed and unwavered. After all, the clan leans on her for the most part and you can't be a good leader if you let your panic show through. This obviously has a negative effect on her mental health and as such Silverstar does not fair well during intense hardship. 


Strengths: 
- Fast: Nyooom, good luck catching her
- Patient: Could wait forever for what she wants. As long as waiting doesn't endager her clan.
- Intelligent: Very able to get out of situations without violence and talk people down.


Weaknesses: 
- Too attached: Death of clan members affects her heavily.
- Exciteable: Can't calm down once she's hyped up, whether that's negatively or positively. 
- Unforgiving: Forgiveness? For someone who attacked her family? Never.


Symptoms/Diseases: Silverstar has mild PTSD from the event of losing her unborn kits during a badger attack. She is definitely not fully recovered and suffers from the following symptoms.

- Avoidance of kits/queens (and anywhere badger-y)
- Distress when a kit (or anyone really) is lost/dies
- Very jumpy/easily startled. Always on high-alert. 

Many of her symptoms have been worked through over the years, and she has lost the earlier numbness/detachment that she had felt at first. This is because she started to treat her clan like the children she lost! She's done good. 



History: 

When Silverstar was Silverkit, it's safe to say she was smothered. She was always kept safe by her mother, and she hadn't been allowed to get out and play with the other kits due to her mother's fear of her getting hurt. Due to this, Silverstar grew up with an extreme reluctance towards fighting and violence in general. 

As she grew to be an apprentice, her mentor had to work very hard to break her out of this foolish mindset. Often they had to ask her if she wanted to be cooped up as a medicine cat instead, and ultimately this was what got her to break through her near-pacifism and begin to take her training seriously. 
In terms of warriors she was very average, and not many knew her well considering how sheltered she was. It took her a little longer to find a mate than her other clan members, but she did eventually and kits were soon on the way. Unfortunately for her, about two weeks into her pregnancy she was attacked by a badger and her kits were lost. 

For several moons she was very detached from her mate and clan life, which eventually caused them to seperate. Since then Silverstar has worked hard to improve her situation and mental health, even though it took her more than a few months to even dream of being sociable again. It took a long of self motivation to get her to where she is now, but even with all her improvement there are many things that still haunt her. She hasn't attempted to reconnect with her old mate, and avoids kits and queens as much as possible, as well as being incredibly jumpy. 

Becoming clan leader has definitely improved her situation as well, since it put her in a position of caretaker. Now this may not be the role she had previously hoped for, but her Clan means everything to her. Silverstar may have lost her kits, but she will never lose her clan. And she will do anything in her power to make sure that is so.
